ERMCO -
Educational Resources of Monterey County is
a 501c3 non-profit organization. It was founded in 1997
by Gayle Comer who realized that many educational
programs were not available to young people in our community.
Originally targeting home schooled youth, ERMCO began offering
supplemental educational programs, curriculum, tutoring
services, computers and organized educational travel. ERMCO's
programs have expanded to include public, private and charter
school students.
OUR MISSION is to encourage a life-long
love of learning in children and to enhance the community
by providing a beautiful multifaceted facility that offers
ongoing classes, services, and jobs that promote life skills
and the arts.
WE ARE FUNDED entirely through donations,
grants, membership dues, events and activities. Fundraising
activities include capital campaigns; regularly scheduled
events such as Broadway Bingo of Salinas; and special events
such as local Air Shows, Silent Auctions, Dances, Arts
and Crafts Fairs, Car Washes, BBQ's and Sales.
ERMCO provides learning opportunities beyond the
classroom by coordinating the following programs:
- Science Camps
- After School Programs
- Tutoring Services
- Enrichment Classes
- Educational Study Trips
- Local Field Trips
- Picnic Days
ERMCO's
permanent home is
located on 45 acres of land in beautiful North Monterey
County, which we have named Hidden Hills. In addition
to the natural bounty of the land, buildings located
on the property provide accommodations for variety of
programs, activities and events. Please check out our
photo section under Hidden Hills for a tour of the facility.
Most classes and events are open to all; however our members receive special
discounts. Our membership dues are $100 annually per family. Please download
the membership form to sign-up.
